While planning to make his home more energy efficient, Russell, one of our founders, experienced how complicated it was. He wanted to know which improvements would have the greatest impact on carbon emissions, which would bring the most value, and how they would they work together. He found that the advice he wanted didn’t exist – it was either too generic or too biased.
CREATING A SOLUTION
That’s why, in 2005, Russell, Chris, Alaine and David put their heads together. Using their experience in engineering, energy, and sustainability, they created Parity Projects – an award-winning company offering impartial home energy advice.
Over the years, they have found that homeowners also want support finding reliable contractors and overseeing the works. This is why Parity Projects has recently introduced Ecofurb, an end-to-end sustainable home renovation service.
You can read more about the development of Ecofurb here.

OUR PARTNER ON THE GROUND
Ecofurb is a partnership between Parity Projects and RetrofitWorks. RetrofitWorks is a cooperative of contractors including builders, specialist installers, and design professionals. All cooperative members are checked against industry, financial and health and safety criteria.
FEE TRANSPARENCY
We believe in a fair and open fee structure.
We charge homeowners for the initial advice: the Ecofurb Plan service and Building Performance Requirements. You can find prices on the home page.
We cover most of our costs with a fee to contractors. This is because we provide a valuable service to them as well as to you: introducing them to customers and collecting details for remote estimates thereby reducing their costs, as well as providing quality assurance on their work. It’s a win-win situation.
